Block 8

About the Project

Awtad Copper LLC (ACL) is a joint venture company dedicated to advancing copper exploration and development in Northern Oman. Located within one of the Sultanate’s most promising mining regions, the project underscores Oman’s growing role in global copper supply chains. Through its collaboration with Alara Resources Limited, ACL brings together local expertise, international mining experience, and sustainable exploration practices.

The project is anchored by Block 8, a highly prospective exploration license in Northern Oman. Situated in a geological setting known for volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS)-type copper deposits, Block 8 represents a significant opportunity to unlock new copper resources while supporting the growth of Oman’s mining sector in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Al Maider Prospect

The Al Maider Prospect was first identified through a stream-sediment sampling program in 2024–2025, which revealed copper-bearing float in the area. Follow-up work traced the source of this mineralisation upstream, leading to the discovery of the copper-bearing bedrock at Al Maider.

To date, exploration at Al Maider has included geological mapping and systematic rock-chip sampling. Recent sampling has confirmed strong copper results, which, combined with earlier data and structural mapping, have defined a robust 4 km copper target.

Current exploration efforts have focused on the northern part of the prospect, where promising results suggest the potential for further mineralisation to the south, along strike of the gabbro unit. Although some of these findings are based on grab samples, they provide encouraging evidence of localised copper mineralisation.

Planned follow-up work will include infill mapping and sampling across the trend, trenching, and ground magnetic surveys. These activities aim to refine targets ahead of initial drill testing. Given the challenging access to the area, the next phase of exploration will emphasise non-invasive methods to build further confidence before drilling commences.

Al Mansur Prospect

The Al Mansur Prospect, located at the centre of the Block 8 Project area, was first defined through geophysical and geochemical surveys conducted by Alara in 2012. Trench sampling and gravity geophysics conducted in late 2024, successfully highlighted zones of copper mineralisation, supporting the geophysical anomalies identified earlier.

Subsequent verification and re-analysis confirmed consistent copper grades, reinforcing the reliability of the results and strengthening confidence in the prospect. Notably, one trench returned 9 metres at 0.74% copper, while another confirmed 8 metres at 0.31% copper. These findings align well with the gravity survey anomaly and the underlying stratigraphy of the area.

With its strong geological setting and positive sampling results, Al Mansur is emerging as a priority exploration target. Planned follow-up work will refine understanding of the mineralised zones and prepare the ground for future drill testing.
